First, a caveat: All of my ebooks may contain bits of erotica. (not porn) It won't be extreme or demeaning and there won't be much of it, but you must be 18 to buy my ebooks. Just thought you'd like to know. Also: If certain parts of my stories seem a bit too real, there's a good reason for it. If you think you recognize yourself in one of my ebooks and aren't happy about it, send me your proposed corrections. I've been unable to contact some of the people involved in various events, so I've renamed all of them to avoid being sued. And: An SF 312 CINA has not been required for any details since 2003. If you know what a CINA is, you probably also know why I mentioned it and won't be willing to take my word on the matter, so go ahead and call the feds. People with email addresses ending in '.gov' have bought my books several times already, which indicates to me that the various agencies still don't share info willingly or easily among themselves. Why so many of my books were Fictionwise Bestsellers in the same year: When I signed on with Fictionwise, I'd already published seventeen books, most of which were Science Fiction. Fictionwise didn't release them all at once; they converted them to Multiformat and added a couple to their sales pages every month as a way of introducing a new author. Storylines: A politically controversial factory and warehouse complex in central South Africa became a space station for "3rd World Products, Book II". The attempted bombing of that warehouse by a Commie local became a large part of this story, in which a Land Rover became a flitter and an M79 grenade launcher which opened a number of warehouse doors in a hurry became a particle beam device. "Dragonfly Run," "Kim," "Field Decision," "Anne," and "Mindy" are mildly fictionalized stories of notable people and events. Participants' names and a few other details were changed to avoid lawsuits. I was very careful about writing this stuff. I have no wish to go to prison or to spend the next decade in courtrooms. The "In Service to a Goddess" series is the closest I've come to actually writing total fiction, and even in those stories I borrowed heavily from my own experiences and some people I've known along the way, as you'll see in the "Notes" sections that accompany those stories. |
